Our Approach
You lead the way.
“Every person who enters my office is unique, and so is our work together.”
A Pathway Back to Yourself
Integrative, Compassionate, & Evidence-Based Care
At Envision Psychotherapy, I believe that the process of change is unique to every individual. My approach is deeply client-centered, meaning our work begins with your story, your pace, and your goals. By blending different therapeutic lenses, I help you navigate life’s complexities with a plan that feels authentic to you.
Serving the North Bay community, I use a multi-modal framework that prioritizes emotional regulation and self-understanding. While I draw from a wide breadth of clinical tools, my practice is primarily rooted in:
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT): To build practical skills for managing intense emotions and improving relationships.
Internal Family Systems (IFS): To explore and understand the different parts of your inner world.
Compassion-Focused Therapy: To quiet the inner critic and develop a kinder relationship with yourself.
To ensure we address every layer of your wellbeing, I also integrate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Attachment-based perspectives. Together, we will bridge the gap between where you are and where you envision yourself to be.
Therapy Modalities
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
Emotion Regulation & Distress Tolerance
DBT is a highly effective tool for those who feel their emotions deeply or struggle with intense fluctuations in mood. If you find yourself overwhelmed by "emotional storms," DBT provides a concrete set of skills to help you stay grounded, manage interpersonal conflict, and navigate moments of crisis with resilience.
Internal Family Systems (IFS) & Somatic Awareness
Deep Trauma Work & Parts Work
I help clients look inward at the different "parts" of themselves such as the part that protects, the part that hurts, and the part that hopes. By combining this with Somatic (body-based) awareness, we can address trauma where it lives in the nervous system, moving beyond just "talking about" the past to truly releasing it.
Compassion-Focused Therapy
Quieting the Inner Critic
Many of us struggle with a harsh "inner critic" that fuels shame and anxiety. This approach focuses on developing self-compassion and emotional warmth, helping you move away from self-judgment and toward a place of gentle acceptance and mental well-being.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Shifting Thought Patterns & Action
CBT is a practical, goal-oriented approach that explores the link between our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. By identifying "thinking traps" or negative patterns that keep you stuck, we work together to develop actionable strategies to shift your perspective and improve your daily quality of life.
Emotions-Focused Therapy (EFT)
Understanding Your Emotional Compass
EFT views emotions as a valuable source of information rather than something to be suppressed. We work to identify, explore, and make sense of your emotional experiences, helping you transform painful "stuck" emotions into a sense of inner strength and clarity.
Attachment-Based Therapy
Healing Through Connection
Our early relationships often form the blueprint for how we interact with the world today. Attachment therapy focuses on the bond between therapist and client as a "secure base," allowing you to explore and heal old relational wounds and develop healthier, more secure connections in your adult life.
Clinical Art Therapy
Non-Verbal Expression
As a Registered Psychotherapist, I am qualified to integrate art-making into our clinical sessions. This is a powerful supplement to talk therapy, allowing us to externalize complex feelings like grief or trauma when words feel insufficient.
